It’s been a few weeks since our last post and now on Week 5 of framing. We really like how the house is shaping up and pleased with the quality of work so far (it’s just taking long!). We have a few small changes to the framing (moving the kitchen windows slightly) and I have requested that our architect increase the size of the master bath while decreasing the size of the walk-in closet – tough decision, right ladies?
We have almost made a decision on the colour of the wood siding and never thought it would be this difficult to choose just the right blend of gray and beige. The siding is manufactured by a company called Cape Cod Siding out of New Brunswick. They must have shipped us 30 samples before I finally threw in the towel and visiting a paint specialist this weekend. It’s amazing how gray can appear blue/green/purple and how different it looks while flat or on its side. Anyways, the colour we have 90% landed on is called Metropolis by Benjamin Moore. I painted some larger samples last night and just need to make sure it looks right on a sunny day.
